Maybe you can help me. Bear with me, I am only speaking my opinion.

To my understanding, there is a great abundance of talented animators and artists hard up for jobs. While all of these people are starving for work in the animation field, cartoons are airing and being produced on Disney XD and The CW 4kids. Now I understand that some of these shows could have strong stories, and maybe some might have decent artwork. But it came to my attention the other day when I witnessed an episode of Static Shock that the animation on some of these shows is absolutely HORRENDOUS. I can't comprehend why these companies would hire people who are going to animate trash. I saw a commercial for some disney show that included the name Phineas (I can't remember what it was called exactly) and I almost fell over. I've seen so much freelance work that could obliterate the talents of these artist (WHO BY THE WAY ARE GETTING PAID TO PRODUCE THIS CRAP!) that are finding it rather difficult finding any art jobs whatsoever.
I understand that there could be various reasons for this. One, better artists might be too expensive for the company to hire, or the show just isn't strong enough to have a decent art budget. Two, the artists with the most talents are two busy applying to companies such as Pixar and Bluesky that they don't realize the other opportunities that are right in front f them. Maybe the artists simply don't have enough time to put their talents to good use. The thing is that I feel like shows like Static Shock and The Spectacular Spiderman would be a hell of a lot more succesful if they actually put some effort in finding the right artists.

Once I've gained enough experience in animation, I'm going to make a short of my own having to do with Static Shock, or maybe even create so fanart. Something that holds something really substantial. Yeah.

Any opinions? Sorry if this offends anybody. I was just really miffed being an appreciater of nice animation.
